Welcome to Dewalc Farm
Dewalc Farm Enterprises, founded in July 2018 by Dennis Namasaka and Noel Nakhumicha, has rapidly become a leading name in fish farming in Kenya. Located on a thriving one-acre site in Bungoma County, our mission is to ensure optimal fish growth while adhering to sustainable practices. The farm is home to a hatchery with 22 ponds specifically designed for breeding, nursing, and outgrowing fish.
A Closer Look at Our Facilities
Our facility consists of:
- 20 lined ponds and 8 earthen ponds covering a surface area of 4,734 m².
- Water supplied from two springs, including the Namasaka Spring.
- A capacity to produce over 100,000 Nile tilapia and 200,000 African catfish fingerlings monthly.
This extensive setup allows us to meet the increasing demand for quality fish seed both locally and regionally.
Commitment to Sustainable Practices
At Dewalc Farm, we believe in the power of sustainable fish farming. We focus on:
- Utilizing modern methods such as recirculating aquaculture systems to increase production efficiency.
- Implementing stringent practices for water conservation and waste management.
- Empowering the community through knowledge and resource-sharing.
These efforts are designed to ensure the health and growth of our fish, while also benefiting the local community.
High Production Cycles
Our ponds have the ability to accommodate an average of 800 fish per cycle and can achieve two cycles annually. This high turnover rate significantly boosts our profitability and ensures a steady supply of fish for our customers.
Broadening Our Horizons
Aside from our core fish farming activities, we are committed to diversifying our offerings. Dewalc Farm also focuses on:
- Beekeeping: From producing beehives to training local farmers on commercialization.
- Rabbit farming: Offering both meat and educational resources.
- Vegetable cultivation: Growing and selling indigenous vegetables.
- Poultry: Supplying chicken and eggs.
We aim to provide a variety of products, from honey to rabbit meat, thus contributing to food security and nutrition in the region.
Empowering the Next Generation of Farmers
Dewalc Farm takes pride in its educational initiatives. We have collaborated with various organizations, including:
- County Government of Bungoma
- GIZ
- ADS
These partnerships have allowed us to conduct training sessions that empower local youth and farmers. Our internship program hosts agriculture students from:
- Sangalo Institute (now The Bungoma National Polytechnic)

By training hundreds of youths, we foster the next generation of agricultural professionals.

At Dewalc Farm, our ultimate goal is to become a model of excellence in the fish farming industry, both locally and beyond. We continuously seek ways to:
- Expand our production capacity.
